When to Know You May Need to Replace Your Sewer Line
Problems with your sewer lines can become apparent in a number of different ways, including:
- Clogs. Constant clogging of the sewer lines can indicate blockages or breakages in the sewer pipes.
- Back ups. Gray water and sewage backing up are a clear sign flow through the sewer pipes is disrupted.
- Stuck drains. When drains in bathtubs, sinks and showers drain very slowly, you have a clue that the sewer pipes are clogged up and not draining to the sewer main line properly.
- Sewage flowing outside of pipes. The underground sewer line is likely damaged or disconnected if you see sewage in the yard along the direction of the sewer line from the main line to your home.
- Unpleasant smells. Bad odors coming from your drains may indicate a problem with a sewage line.
